Nisivoccia was founded in 1970 by Raymond Nisivoccia and has since grown into one of the most respected certified public accounting and wealth management(opens in new tab) firms in New Jersey. With over 140 employees, we are proud of the long-term partnerships we’ve formed with clients and the inherent values that drive our ongoing commitment to client service.

Nisivoccia Certified Public Accounting Firm Celebrates 55+ Years

Nisivoccia was built on the philosophy that looks beyond the accounting entries to the underlying operations and business situations, to provide our clients with distinctive and superior value-added services. The Nisivoccia Way is treating clients like family and building a team of professional and personable employees who value quality service. After 55+ years, these values still permeate everything we do today and will continue to inspire us into the future.

Bud Jones, who took the reins as managing partner in 2020, said Nisivoccia has been able to continue its exceptional service, helping clients become more efficient and profitable, simply by emulating the strength, conviction, and philosophies of its founder, Raymond Nisivoccia.

55 Years Of Milestones In Review

1960s

1964 - Ray Nisivoccia, CPA accounting firm opens for business at 45 East Blackwell Street in Dover

1965 - First municipality client, Borough of Hamburg

1966 - Moved to 375 East McFarland Street, Dover

1966 - First school district client, Borough of Victory Gardens

1966 - Joe Mercurio joins the firm as first employee, retired after 50 years of service.

1966 - First Holiday Party

1970s

1970 – Becomes Nisivoccia & Gilbert

1970 – First Family Picnic

1976 – First county client, County of Sussex

1976 - Moved to 151 Rt. 10, Succasunna

1976 – Newton office opens

1980s

1980 – Moved to 5 Emery Avenue, Randolph

1983 – First Pinehurst Client Golf Event

1990s

1990 – Name changes to Nisivoccia & Company LLP

1999 – Partnership with BKR International

2000s

2001 – Financial Services Group Formed

2001 – Launched IT Consulting Services

2005 – Named “Outstanding Firm” by BKR

2003 – Chris Lynch becomes Managing Partner

2008 – Moved to Mt Arlington, NJ

2009 – Created a new position dedicated to marketing

2010 – Raymond Nisivoccia elected to the BKR Worldwide Board

- Tim Mehaffey becomes Managing Partner

- The office went virtual on March 13, 2020 due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

- Bud Jones becomes Managing Partner

- Helped clients obtain pandemic grants and SBA loans

- Morris County Chamber William Huber Award for Volunteer Leadership in the Community

- SCARC Foundation Leadership Honoree

- The office continued to operate at 50% capacity due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

- Clients were welcomed back into the office on July 1

- Held our first food truck event to celebrate our busy season in the parking lot with social distancing

- Welcomed in-person employees and family members to our annual firm picnic

- Nisivoccia was awarded the ClearlyRated designation for Best in Accounting for Client Service Excellence

2022

- Merged with Anderson & Company, PC, a full-service CPA firm located in Bridgewater, New Jersey

- Nisivoccia was awarded the ClearlyRated designation Best in Accounting for Client Service Excellence for the second year in a row

- The office is reopened to operate at full capacity

- Nisivoccia received the Sussex County Economic Development Partnership and Sussex County Chamber of Commerce Workforce and Development Award

- Hired our first Talent Acquisition Manager to address the industry accountant shortage

2022

- Merged with Anderson & Company, PC, a full-service CPA firm located in Bridgewater, New Jersey

- Traditional St. Patrick's Day employee luncheon returns for first time since COVID-19

- The first Approved Private Schools for Students with Disabilities (APSSD) client and partner appreciation event was held at the Park Avenue Club.

- Bud Jones, Managing Partner, was awarded a Morris County Lifetime Achievement Award by the Patriots' Path Council Boy Scouts of America.

- The Arc of NJ's President's Award

- Brought back our Firm-hosted Nonprofit Seminar
