Nisivoccia LLP Hosts Annual Not-for-Profit Seminar
On Thursday, November 30, Nisivoccia LLP hosted the annual Not-for-Profit seminar at The Meadow Wood Manor in Randolph from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This year, there was a focus on fundraising, asking all attendees “are you using all of your resources to attract donors?”
To kick off the seminar, Michele Siekerka, President and CEO of New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) gave a thought provoking speech about the economic impact of nonprofits in New Jersey. After, Chris Perrotta, CPA, Partner, Mike Smith, CPA and Ryan Hynson, CPA gave an audit update, highlighting key changes in the audit that nonprofits should be aware of going forward.
John Corcoran of D’Alessandro Inc. then presented “Who should do what in 2018?” He explained how the different segments and people invovled in your nonprofit can play a role in fundraising. Chris Vaglio of GREY SKY FILMS followed, discussing how using video to tell your nonprofit story can greatly benefit a nonprofit’s marketing strategy, attracting more donors for the coming year.
To finish the seminar off, Mark Jensen, Director of IT, and Tom Dartnell, CPA, Partner, then opened the floor to a Q&A for anyone who had questions concering business continuity.
The seminar was a information-packed day, with about 80 attendees who left with valuable knowledge about fundraising, video story telling and technology to improve their nonprofit organizations.
