Nisivoccia LLP Men’s Softball Team Beats 2016 League Champs
On Wednesday, June 7, the Nisivoccia LLP men’s softball team took the field for their fifth game to play against the 2016 league champions, Hennion & Walsh. This was Nisivoccia LLP’s second win against the team, with a final score of 19 Nisivoccia and 12 Walsh, proving they are not intimidated by the 2016 champs.
According to Mark Jensen, IT Director and veteran coach for the Nisivoccia LLP softball team, said, “By far, the most impressive part of [Wednesday’s] game was defense. The entire team clicked all around and played the most solid of all year. The outfield played perfectly and even calling for the ball as it was soaring deep into the air even out pass the warning track. It is play like this that will win a championship!”
The top batters of the game were:
Nick Kaijala: 4 for 5 with 4 RBI’s and 2 runs scored (1x3b + 1x2b + 2x1b)
Gary DeOliveira: 4 for 4 with 3 RBI’s and 2 runs scored (1x3b + 1x2b + 2x1b)
Andrew Kucinski: 3 for 3 with 2 RBI’s and 3 runs scored (1x2b + 2x1b)
The first meeting against Hennion & Walsh took place on Thursday, April 20, which was a slugfest that went into the late evening, and eventually was called by the officials due to darkness. Fortunately, Nisivoccia was on top at the time of the call and took away the win. Rumor had it that Hennion & Walsh was looking for a bit of redemption this time around as they thought they were going to “man-handle” the Beancounters.
Wednesday’s game was Nisivoccia’s 4th win of the season.
Next week on Tuesday, June 6, is arguably Nisivoccia’s biggest game of the season, where Nisivoccia will face KPMG for a rematch. Go get ’em, Nisivoccia!
