On Thursday, March 28, Ryan Hynson, CPA of Nisivoccia LLP, received the “Rising Star Award” at the Annual Toast to the Stars Awards Dinner hosted by the Sussex County Chamber of Commerce. Eight others, including Jason Lutz, CPA of Nisivoccia LLP, were nominated for the award.
According to the Sussex County Chamber of Commerce, the “Rising Star Award” is awarded to an emerging leader whose achievements reflect exceptional growth in their profession, increased levels of leadership/responsibility and high potential for future impact. Ryan was nominated for his dedication to both the Sussex County Chamber of Commerce and Nisivoccia LLP’s Young Professionals Groups, his involvement in the community and his achievements at Nisivoccia LLP.
During his speech, Ryan reflected on his time as a member of the Steering Committee of the Sussex County Chamber of Commerce Young Professional Group.
“I was given the opportunity to grow in my community by being a part of the Young Professionals Steering Committee for the Sussex County Chamber,” Ryan said. “This committee has opened my eyes to being a part of a group that is much bigger than itself. It has given me the opportunity to meet people in my community, build relationships and even gain a few friends.”
Ryan then shared some advice to future “Rising Stars” in the community.
“One piece of advice to all the future ‘Rising Stars’ in this room tonight is to go outside your comfort zone and introduce yourself to as many people as you can,” Ryan said. “Exceed your expectations, because somewhere during the course of meeting those people you will build a connection, you will meet a few friends and who knows, maybe you will be given the opportunity to give a speech for winning an award you feel truly honored to be recognized for.”
